Let me tell you a story…
Dwight Dewitt Baggett was born in Baker to the late Deacon and Mrs. Alex Baggett, Sr. He has lived in this area all of his life. He received his elementary education from Drew School, in Baker and his high school education from Carver-Hill High School, Crestview, Florida. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at the age of 14 and united with the Lebanon Baptist Church Family in Baker, Florida. While at Lebanon he served on the Trustee Board, Driver of the Church Van, Sunday School Teacher and Bible Study Coordinator.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Lane College, Jackson, Tennessee, and his Master of Science in Education at Troy State University, Troy, Alabama. After graduation, Dwight Baggett returned home and obtained employment at his Alma Mater, Carver-Hill, and taught there from 1963-1969. 1969 to 1975, he was assistant football coach, and assistant basketball coach at Baker High School.
1975 to 1983, he became the head basketball coach. 1984 to 1985, he served as the Home Liaison for Okaloosa County School District. 1987 to 1992 Assistant Principal – Crestview Senior High School 1994, Dispatcher – Okaloosa County Coordinated Transportation Dwight D. Baggett announce his call into the ministry April 3, 1994 and preached his initial sermon June 19, 1994.
He was chosen as pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in December of 1997. He received his Associate of Theology Degree from West Florida Baptist Institute, Pensacola, Fl in May 2000. He is the Chairman of the progressive District Baptist Association Congress of West Florida. Reverend Baggett is famous for finishing his sermons with a story — therefore, known as the “Story Telling Pastor”. He and his wife Novella have two children Patrick and Lori.
